[thumb:2373:l:]So I went on a trip to Busan and Jinhae this past weekend. We left around 10pm on Friday night and got back about 24 hours later. So exhausting but still really fun.
[thumb:2250:r] About 3am we rolled up into Busan and stopped at the seafood market. It’s apparently a traditional thing to do early in the morning. We had a little while to explore and we stopped in and had some fresh fish cut up as a sort of uhhhh breakfast. I didn’t have any, although I have tried it before. There was this drunk guy who thought the girls were prostitutes and he bought the meal for them, which was hilarious and sad at the same time. He hobbled off into the darkness before they were even served, though.
We had to be back at the bus at 4:40am and made our way to a sort of mountain overlook thing to watch what could be called the sunrise. We followed a road on foot up to a sort of overlook and took a bunch of pictures and tried to get our cameras to work in the low-light conditions, without a whole lot of luck. By the time we made it down to the bottom of the mountain, it was probably around 7:3oam and almost time for breakfast at a restaurant at the bottom of the road.
[thumb:2382:l] Breakfast was interesting as always, but I was more than ready to take a nap on the bus during the ride to Jinhae. Now it was time to head to Jinhae for the cherry blossom festival. I didn’t sleep much at all during the whole trip, so this is around the point where I was getting a little bit tired. We get to Jinhae and it’s steadily raining and is pretty foggy. The first place we go is to some train tracks that are lined with cherry blossoms. Then we headed to a Korean marines training center or something and saw the turtle ship, toured that for about 2 hours (which could have been done in 20 minutes).
[thumb:2390:l] After we got done sloshing around in the parking lot of the marines place, we all hopped back on the bus and finally headed to the center of Jinhae for what we had all come for, the festival. By festival I mean a bunch of food vendors and random goods vendors, not much different than you might see on the street. Just all bunched up under covered tents and stuff.
By the time we got back, I was so ready to climb into my not so comfortable dormitory bed and get a much needed rest. I woke up today with a pretty intense cold, which was probably from being out in the rain and exposed to the air pollution that’s so prevalent right now.
