It's more than that. Even if you believe in big benevolent government, taxing the rich to feed house and insure the poor type programs....it won't work unless we change our monetary system, something that Congressman Paul wants to do.

We've been taxing and spending since the New Deal, and what has happened? The rich are richer, and the poor are still poor. Now the middle class is getting wiped out.

I don't agree with him on all policies and positions, but I do agree with him in that if we decided issues by Constitutional Amenements instead of interpretations, we would be in a much better position! Instead, we're still harping about the same issues, oike abortion, for nigh on for 50 years now.

Comment on Reduced dependence on foreign oil by Chad Bartholomew

I was reading the article "Have we reached the energy tipping point?" and read the comment "It's not that Americans don't want to be environmentally friendly, it's just that we don't have much of a choice," he wrote. "As an SUV driver, telling me that my only alternative is a Toyota Prius or a Honda Civic is like telling me to eat beef jerky when I'm used to filet mignon."

Car manufacturers give us all kinds of choices! You can buy a luxury vehicle that has more room, is quieter, safer, and gets better gas mileage than an SUV. Yet, the majority of U.S. citizens choose vehicles that are heavy with features that they do not use. Example: A VW Passat Wagon has more interior and cargo room than the VW Touareg. It can be equiped with equal luxury amenities and all wheel drive. The Passat gets 26 mpg with AWD and the Touareg 18 mpg. The Touareg is built to tow 7800 lbs and do extreme off roading (like Moab). The VW Passat handles better in snow and can get through more than a foot of snow. Yet over 90% of the U.S. chooses the Touareg over the Passat Wagon. Why? I believe it is a fad. I had a woman buy a Suburu Forrester over the Passat Wagon because the Suburu called their station wagon an SUV. What? About the same ground clearance and a better 4wd system on the Passat. Here are some great choices to save fuel and get more luxury and more room than your SUV:
Mini Van (Chrysler Town and Counry, Honda Touring)
Station Wagon (Mercedes E-Class, Audi A-4 Avant)
Cross Over Vehicle (Lexus RX330, Nissan Murano)

don't get 4wd or AWD unless you go offroad or experience snow on the roads more than 30 days out of the year.

This note is particularly touching. Sharp sense. You seem to me that you're an expert of living in Seoul, Korea. I'd like to add and share opinions with you when we both are okay. Is that skype okay with you?

Personally think that Insadong doesn't regard any more as an attractive visit point for the traditional atmosphere things in a tour, rather than some kind of cheap souvenir market or something, but some real charm of Insadong hides inside of deep lanes-not a main street- and galleries. Numerous cafes and restaurants for Korean teas and food in the narrow lanes are good for hang-out with friends. Probably the next weekend(from 04/27), there would be more fun to enjoy at Insadong. I hope you have a happy time with your friend.

Do you like a walking tour? Take a map from the information center and go by yourself some working tour, it would be fun. I only visited the main information center which is located in near Seoul city hall and Gwanghwamun, but there are really good info, maps, brochures for things do in Seoul. The web address as below have some working tour info I just mentioned.

Hong Dae(hongik university) area is cool to hang out, specially for clubs, bars. It is easy and closed to go from now your school, yonsei university. Hong dae(we call hong-dae as hongik uni, yon-dae as yonsei uni, ee-dae as ewha uni) can be said by many young people that one of must-go place for trendy Korean night culture. You would meet many indie bands' performances and funny people in there. I would recommend to go before you leave here, get some info from your local friends at school before hanging out in Hong dae later.
